What Is Operation Happiness?

Operation Happiness is an annual Christmas program in which all pre-registered participants receive a Christmas food box with a ham or turkey, pantry staples, cleaning supplies, and Christmas trimmings. Additionally, each member of the household gets a free coat and lunch on the Day of Giving.

Operation Happiness is facilitated by CCCS and is supported by the community volunteers and monetary donations.

How to Get Involved

CCCS relies on monetary donations from the community so that we may continue our mission of helping people in need.

Volunteer with Operation Happiness

Since Operation Happiness is an expansive program serving families in the Clark County community, volunteers play a crucial role in the program's success. With Operation Happiness, there is a service opportunity for everyone as there are volunteer options with varying levels of commitment and engagement.

If you are interested in volunteering and would like to know more information about how you can serve your community through Operation Happiness, please contact Kristy Weckwert via email at kristyweckwert@cccs1975.org or by phone at 859-744-5034 ext. 6. You can also sing up to volunteer by clicking the button below. Volunteer info for 2025 is coming soon.

How to Access Assistance

Assistance Qualification

To qualify for assistance through Operation Happiness, you must be a Clark County resident and a client of Clark County Community Services.

Income is NOT a factor.

Registration

Beginning this year (2025), there will no longer be phone lines for Operation Happiness registration. Clients can sign up for Operation Happiness in September, October, and November when they come to CCCS to get their monthly food box. This system also eliminates the postcards that were previously sent out for registration. In place of this, you will get an automated phone call reminder in December.

On the Day of Giving, please be prepared to sign in:

  • Bring your Clark County ID or other proof of address (utility bill, etc.)

  • You may also bring your food pantry card

  • IMPORTANT: If you are picking up for somebody else, you must have a copy of their ID.

If you do not pick up your food box on the Day of Giving, you will not be able to pick it up the next day. Delivery will only be available for those who regularly receive delivery.
